FAQ
What is the difference between a Registered Dietitian and a nutritionist/nutrition coach?
As a Registered Dietitian, I went through many years of college education for dietetics, 1200 hours of supervised internship, and sat for a licensing exam to become credentialed through my state. Over the past 10+ years, I have become a Registered Dietitian, continue to complete Continuing Education to maintain my license, and better myself through education from within and outside of my organization to provide the best services to you. I am able to provide you medical nutrition therapy to help correct or prevent several medical issues.
Conversely, nutritionists and nutrition coaches are individuals who have completed a program to give advice to others on nutrition, but usually cannot provide medical nutritional counseling and are not a credentialed professional.
What style of nutrition advice do we provide?
We're not going to give you a cookie-cutter nutrition program or meal plans that you could find online. We'll thoroughly review any medical history and tests you provide, discuss where you're at currently and what your goals are, and other factors that could affect your nutrition to see what our process will look like. You're not going to find yourself ditching your favorite foods, cutting out whole food groups, or downing a bunch of supplements. At Schwartz Fitness, LLC, our approach is to help you live your best life full of the foods and drinks you love most while still getting you to your goals.
You won't find us suggesting trendy, fad diets or telling you that you can't have your favorite foods, that's a one-way street to failure. You can reach and surpass your health and fitness goals while enjoying the process, learning to have a positive relationship with food in a healthy way! Our aim is to not only get you your goal body, but to address and alleviate any symptoms you're experiencing through nutrition. What we offer is a lifelong method to approach nutrition and fitness so we're the last resource you'll need to live a happy and healthy life!
How long do I have to do your program?
Each person will be different, but we suggest starting with 6-12 months depending on your current situation and goals. Once we get closer to your goals or the timeframe suggested, we will discuss how the program is progressing and future involvement.
What can I expect out of this program?
The Schwartz Fitness LLC program consists of two elements: nutrition counseling and fitness programming, which can be done together or separately.
Nutrition: After our consultation, we will have you track your food intake so we can get an idea of your baseline habits then set goals for you to reach each day. These goals will be routinely evaluated and changed if necessary to help you reach your goals. Once we get closer to your goals, we'll transition to teaching you how to maintain those goals and eventually know how to not go back to prior habits without my guidance.
Fitness: After our consultation, we'll develop a fitness program that fits your equipment availability, intensity and time preferences, and align them to benefit you and your strength and fitness goals. We'll be routinely evaluating how you're progressing in the program and changing it to keep it fresh, exciting, and safe.
How do we meet for our sessions?
Depending on the client's preferences, we can meet via video call, phone call, or in-person if you're local to central Iowa. Regardless of how we meet, if you need help outside of our appointments, please feel free to text/email me with questions regarding your program, or call me in emergencies.
What is our refund policy?
Per the Coach and Client Agreement Form (hereinafter referred to as "Agreement Form") signed at the commencement of services, the coach requires that you provide a 30-day written notice via email prior to discontinuation or hold. Failure to provide 30 days notice prior to the next payment date stated in the Agreement Form shall result in a collected payment on the next scheduled date if paying monthly or in installments (does not apply if Client pays in full at beginning of services). You agree to pay the amount agreed upon and not to cancel or dispute this transaction with your bank or credit card company. The Coach is not responsible for overdraft charges, over limit charges, or NSF fees by your bank or credit card company. Failure to make the payment will result in suspension or termination of these services. Once the payment is made and access to materials is given, there will be no refunds for the payment made if you choose to discontinue the program.
What is our privacy policy?
We know how important your privacy is, and at Schwartz Fitness, LLC, it is a priority to protect that in every aspect of our practice. We won't sell or give away your name, mail address, phone number, email address, health information, or any other personal information to third parties. We pride ourselves in using a HIPPA compliant system so you can rest assured that we're taking every step to protect your information.
We may ask that we can share your progress photos and story, but will only do so with your permission.
